DuckTales Reboot – Opinion

The new DuckTales premieres with an original movie on August 12, airing all day on Disney XD.

Disney XD may have a large catalog of cartoons, some good and some bad, but one of the classics is coming back: a reboot of the popular DuckTales. With an all-star cast and everyone’s nostalgia goggles on, there is almost no way this could be bad. In fact, Disney is so confident in the show that the hour-long pilot, “Woo-oo!”, will air for 24 hours on repeat.

With David Tennant as Scrooge, Beck Bennett as Launchpad, and Huey, Dewey and Louie voiced by Danny Pudi, Ben Schwartz and Bobby Moynihan respectively, the cast is full of actors who seem perfect for their roles. Guests like Allison Janney and Lin-Manuel Miranda will stopping by to add join the fun.

A simple reboot of the cartoon is enough for children of the 80s and 90s to be excited, but judging by the promotional materials, this could very well be just as good, if not better than, the original. The animation style is great, and they’ve kept the same fantastic theme song.

We are looking forward tremendously to the full season of DuckTales, and will be singing along.

(Also, a Darkwing Duck reboot would awesome, but let’s not push our chances.)
