New York Magic Lab

Open through the end of October (28th), New York Magic Lab is a one-month addition to NYC’s pop-up landscape. Billing itself as the” First Magic-themed  Immersive Art Exhibition,” the curators have transformed a storefront on West 14th into a fun, photo-op laden exhibit.

This pop up is powered by the latest emerging technologies including Augmented Reality (AR), Projection Mapping and Holograms to revolutionize pop-up art installation industry and elevate immersive art experience to a next level.  You can take a photo in a big black top hat while dressed as a magician, on a big silver die, and in front of giant playing cards. There’s the requisite ball pit that encourages visitors to “stay in your magic “and a humorous chart of the elements.

The coolest room is the psychedelic color-changing disco dance floor. With music abounding, bring your dancing shoes!

On Friday and Saturday nights from 8:00-10:00PM magicians Jerel Leeon, Benjamin Mei and Dennis Kim wander around and surprisingly perform impromptu magic tricks.
