The Magic School Bus Rides Again is available now on Netflix.
I have fond memories of watching the original Magic School Bus at home or in school. Ms. Frizzle and her students taught me so much through their exciting adventures. To this day, my friends and I still reference the characters who encouraged to take chances, make mistakes, and get messy.
So, despite not being the target audience, I loved watching the first episode of Netflix’s latest offering for kids, The Magic School Bus Rides Again.
The new episodes feature the same kids but a new Ms. Frizzle. Original voice actress Lily Tomlin passes the torch to new star Kate McKinnon. Emmy winner McKinnon was the perfect choice to embody the quirky and bubbly Frizzle.
The best part of the revival, noticeably, is the new rockin’ theme song by Lin-Manuel Miranda. Ride on the Magic School Bus!
