Tablet Mag: ‘Insatiable’ is Somehow Worse Than We Thought

This past summer, I had the pleasure of interning at Tablet, a popular Jewish-interest online magazine. The experience gave me incredible opportunities to hone my journalism skills. I also learned the inside workings of a real media outlet. It was so much fun, and being that TV and City is on a bit of a hiatus while I’m abroad, every so often I’ll be sharing my entertainment-related pieces from Tablet here. Enjoy!

Back in mid-August, the controversial Netflix series Insatiable caused quite the stir. Many people wrote the show off before it even premiered… and they were absolutely right to. The horrors of the 12 episodes went far beyond fat shaming. In my Tablet article, I honed in on how one seemingly insignificant joke encompassed everything wrong with Insatiable. I’m proud of this write-up, as its one of my first real attempts at “critical analysis,”
