Chilling Adventures of Sabrina returns December 31 on Netflix.

And just like that, we’ve arrived at the final few episodes of Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. It’s been quite a ride, and while not always a pleasant one, the series has managed to keep fans invested through its four seasons, or parts, as they like to call them.

The first five episodes of the final season, which were provided to press, showcase the witches, warlocks, humans, and Hell against one horrifying dark presence. It’s a bit strange to see this sort of camaraderie but I was all here for it as every episode went on. Given that it’s the final season, it was refreshing to see heroes and villains come together to face one common enemy, and I think it made the whole ambiance feel bittersweet.

There are certainly elements of these episodes that drag on and hit a lull as the story itself develops. But it’s made up for when the twists and turns come and Sabrina Spellman (Kiernan Shipka) does what she does best. It’s one of the things I’ve always enjoyed about the show, watching this version of Sabrina take on her complicated world of humans and witches. And Shipka always does such a wonderful job playing the part.

In typical Sabrina fashion, the series gives us a surprise this season that we would have never seen coming. I cannot wait for everyone to see it unfold and get caught off-guard just as I did. I promise it will be worth your while, and you’ll be cheering with joy. I know it sounds silly and weird in the context of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, but trust me when I say, you will not be disappointed.

Watching these first five episodes was definitely an unexpected treat for me as I haven’t been quite impressed with the series, especially these last two seasons. But they’ve brought their A-game for the final season, and given fans almost everything we’ve been asking for plus a few surprises along the way.

While not all of you will be amused with the final season, I do believe the series will manage to win back some of the viewers it lost or some of the viewers that started to lose interest as I did. It’s a trippy ride down Greendale lane, so strap in and get ready to bid farewell to the Spellman clan, and the dark (and insane) world of Sabrina.

I give Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Part 4 a B-.
