Thank you to Tom Thibodeau, RJ Barrett, Julius Randle for getting this thing going.
Thank you to Leon Rose for constructing this team masterfully.
Thank you to Mike Brown for putting it all together.
Landry Shamet and Deuce McBride for timely shooting.
Mitchell Robinson for staying with us for so long and boxing out one last time for the cinching board.
Jose Alvarado for your Game 4 minutes.
Mikal Bridges for changing this offense when it needed to change. F them picks.
OG Anunoby for the best play in Knicks history.
Josh Hart for all the dirty work.
KAT for games 1 and 2 and transforming into the best version of yourself when we needed it most.
And lastly, the captain, Jalen.
You didn’t have the words at the end of the game. I have some for you. The late David Foster Wallace wrote an article for the New York Times titled “Federer as Religious Experience.” Well I’d like to add that Jalen Brunson is a religious experience too. To watch a man so strong willed despite his obvious size difference continually instill belief in this team is nothing short of mesmerizing.
It is a privilege to watch you. You are my hero. I’m so grateful I get to root for you.
Overall sports don’t fundamentally matter to our lives. It’s just a ball going through a hoop. But it’s who we watch them with that does. I got to watch these playoff games with all the people I love. My parents, my brother, my best friends, my grandmother and my city.
Those are memories that will last a life time.
Thank you to the Knicks for making it all happen.
